About the role
We are looking for an Enterprise Data Migration Architect with deep, hands-on expertise in large-scale data migrations and modern cloud data platforms. This is a senior technical leadership role within our Insurance P&C data transformation program, responsible for architecting and owning the end-to-end migration of legacy data systems to a modern cloud-native ecosystem on AWS.
You will work at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and governance — defining migration strategies, leading technical execution, and driving outcomes that directly impact business operations. This is a production delivery role, not advisory or POC-only.
What You Will Do Data Migration Architecture & Leadership • Own end-to-end design and execution of enterprise data migrations from legacy platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, AS400/Mainframe, PostgreSQL, MySQL) to modern cloud targets on AWS • Define and govern migration strategy including data mapping, transformation logic, reconciliation frameworks, cutover planning, rollback procedures, and performance tuning • Lead large-scale incremental and CDC-based migration pipelines ensuring zero-loss data fidelity • Drive validation, quality assurance, and sign-off processes across source and target systems Cloud Data Platform & Architecture • Design and implement scalable data architectures on AWS — leveraging Databricks or Snowflake as the primary analytical platform • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS-native services: S3, Glue, DMS, Lambda, Redshift, EMR • Architect Lakehouse, Data Vault, Star Schema, and Dimensional models aligned to Insurance P&C business domains • Optimize Spark workloads for cost, performance, and reliability in production environments Governance, Observability & Security • Implement data lineage, observability, and data quality frameworks throughout the migration lifecycle • Define and enforce data security, access controls, and compliance standards aligned with Insurance regulatory requirements • Drive cloud cost optimization strategies across data services Stakeholder Management & Delivery Governance • Partner with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to define scope, priorities, and delivery milestones • Communicate architecture decisions, risks, and migration status to senior leadership and client stakeholders • Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams through complex delivery programs
Non-Negotiable Requirements Candidates must demonstrate all of the following to be considered. Area Requirement Experience 10+ years in enterprise data architecture and large-scale data migration programs Vertical Insurance P&C domain experience — mandatory Migration Depth Proven E2E migrations: mapping, reconciliation, validation, cutover, rollback, and performance tuning Modern Platform Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks or Snowflake Cloud Strong exposure to Amazon Web Services and its database/analytics services Production Delivery Real production migration experience — not only POC or support roles
Technical Skills Languages & Frameworks • Strong SQL, Python or Scala, PySpark • Spark optimization for production-scale workloads ETL/ELT & Pipelines • AWS Glue, ADF, Informatica, dbt, or equivalent • CDC / incremental load patterns, reconciliation and validation frameworks AWS Services • S3, Glue, DMS, Lambda, Redshift, EMR — hands-on experience preferred Legacy Databases • Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL — working knowledge required • AS400 / Mainframe familiarity preferred Data Architecture Patterns • Star Schema, Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault • Lakehouse / Medallion Architecture • Cutover planning, rollback strategy, data validation at scale Governance & Security • Data lineage, metadata management, observability tooling • Cloud cost optimization, security controls, and access governance Nice to Have • Experience with Purview, Collibra, or equivalent data catalog / governance tooling • Familiarity with Insurance regulatory data requirements (IRDAI or equivalent) • CI/CD and DataOps practices — Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar
Why This Role • Lead one of the largest Insurance P&C data transformation programs in the region • Work with a modern tech stack — Databricks, Snowflake, AWS — at enterprise scale • Direct influence over architecture decisions from day one • Collaborative, delivery-focused culture with senior engineering and business stakeholders
