About the role
About the program I am writing to you on behalf of the Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Prakalp PoCRA, Phase 2.0, a flagship initiative of the Government of Maharashtra aimed at promoting climate resilient agriculture. As a GIS Specialist within the organization, I am currently overseeing projects that integrate advanced geospatial technologies to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainable land management. We are looking to engage motivated interns from your esteemed university for a specialized project involving Mat Bund extraction work. Mat bunds soil embankments are critical components of soil and water conservation, and their accurate identification is vital for our Ground Water Budgeting planning and soil conservation efforts. By participating in this program, students will gain: Cutting Edge Agricultural Experience: Exposure to the Maha Agri AI Policy and the deployment of a Unified Platform for AI, Remote Sensing, and GIS for farm intelligence. Hands on Technical Training: Practical experience in farm digitization, creating georeferenced databases of farm polygons, and working with multisource spatial data including satellite imagery. Real World Problem Solving: Involvement in correcting mapping discrepancies, reconciling village revenue maps with digital MLP Micro Level Planning applications, and ensuring data accuracy for state level agricultural projects. Professional Certification: Upon successful completion, interns will receive official certification from PoCRA. This credential will be highly beneficial during their placements, showcasing their experience with largescale government GIS implementations. Internship Requirements: Role: GIS Intern Bund Boundary Extraction. Target Group: Students currently pursuing or recently completed degrees in Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Geography or any graduate disciple related fields.
