Role Overview: You will play a crucial role as a Principal AI Architect at National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), leading the convergence of Classic ML and Modern GenAI technologies to create fully autonomous systems for the world's largest real-time payment rails. Your visionary leadership will define the AI doctrine for the nation's financial backbone, with a focus on fraud detection, scale, and nation-scale impact. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Leadership: - Define the technical roadmap for integrating GenAI into core payment flows while maintaining the reliability of UPI. - Make decisions on training proprietary foundation models vs. fine-tuning open-source models for data sovereignty. - Mentor and foster a culture of high-performance research and production excellence. - Predictive AI & Scale: - Architect the next generation of Fraud Risk Management system for real-time graph learning and streaming inference. - Design a unified Feature Store for high-velocity transactional features and dense vector embeddings. - Drive kernel-level optimizations for maximum throughput from GPU clusters. - Generative & Agentic AI: - Lead the development of Level 4 AI Agents for banking interfaces and real-time fraud detection. - Direct the strategy for fine-tuning Small Language Models on secured financial data. - Design AI guardrails to prevent hallucination in critical financial advice. Qualification Required: - Proven track record in Classic ML and Modern GenAI systems at scale. - Experience in architecting systems handling high transaction volumes. - Deep understanding of deep learning principles and custom model training. - Leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams of data scientists and engineers.
