Python Software Engineer

Additionally, you'll liaise with other engineers, architects, and business analysts across the platform. Your responsibilities will include: - Producing complex and critical software rapidly and of high quality, adding value to the business - Working in permanent teams responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development through enhancement and maintenance to replacement or decommissioning - Collaborating to optimize the software engineering capability - Designing, producing, testing, and implementing working code - Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design, through coding to testing, deployment, and operations You'll need a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how your area of expertise supports customers. The skills required for this role include: - At least eight years of experience building backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django - Exposure to scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, with an understanding of training vs inference workflows and performance considerations - Strong focus on unit, integration, and API testing using tools such as pytest or unit test, along with code reviews, static analysis, and CI/CD-driven quality gates - Practical exposure to integrating AI/ML models or inference pipelines in Python, with awareness of LLMs or cloud AI services being a strong advantage - Experience of DevOps, Testing, and Agile methodology and associated toolsets The job requires 45 hours per week.
