About the role
As a Test Automation Engineer, your role involves driving the implementation of modern test automation frameworks and tools. You will be responsible for promoting shift-left testing practices and supporting developers in embedding quality. Your key responsibilities include: - Designing and executing automated tests on the latest software revisions. - Participating in the development of the automated testing framework for a CI/CD environment. - Interpreting requirements from existing manual test cases and specification documents, liaising with Manual Testers and Business Analysts. - Ensuring the backlog is up to date by liaising with the product and development teams. - Providing estimates on the test effort required for completing work. - Raising bugs and collaborating with the development team from discovery to resolution. - Setting up and configuring the testing environment and associated databases. - Communicating frequently with the DevOps team to ensure smooth product delivery. - Preparing and sharing the test execution report with stakeholders. In terms of technical skills and experience, you should possess: - Experience with C# / Java Script. - 5+ years of Test Automation experience using tools like Selenium and Java. - Experience in developing and executing automated test cases for User Interfaces. - Knowledge of software development in a web environment. Your soft skills and experience should include: - Clear and concise communication abilities. - Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. - Proficiency in detailed and effective written communication for documenting features and bugs. - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive. - Comfortable discussing technical aspects with testers, developers, and business owners. Desirable skills and experience for this role are: - Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools. - Familiarity with Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent tools. - Knowledge of the latest AI tools and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines. - Experience in testing User Interfaces and databases. - Possession of ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certifications or equivalent, or working towards achieving them. - Experience in coordinating with external/Offshore QA resources.
