About the role
Job Description: We are seeking a Junior IT Network Engineer eager to build a career in enterprise networking. This role offers hands-on exposure to network design, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting across LAN/WAN, cloud, and security environments. Ideal for candidates with foundational networking skills who are ready to take the next step. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install, configure, and maintain network equipment routers, switches, firewalls, access points (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or equivalent). Monitor network performance and availability using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios; respond to alerts and escalate incidents appropriately. Assist in configuring VLANs, VPNs (Site-to-Site, SSL), OSPF/BGP routing protocols, and QoS policies. Troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 connectivity issues, DNS/DHCP problems, and WAN outages. Support the helpdesk team on network-related end-user tickets (connectivity, Wi-Fi, remote access). Maintain accurate network diagrams, IP address management (IPAM) records, and change logs. Assist in implementing network security policies, firewall rules, and ACLs. Participate in capacity planning discussions, hardware procurement, and vendor coordination. Support cloud network configurations in Azure Virtual Network, AWS VPC, or GCP. Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network infrastructure. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering. CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent in progress / recently obtained. Working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, VLANs, STP, and routing protocols. Familiarity with firewall concepts and basic network security (ACLs, NAT, port forwarding). Basic scripting ability (Python, Bash) for network automation is a plus. Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical troubleshooting approach .
