POSITION SUMMARY: The Principal Cloud Data Engineer is a hands-on role and will liaise with product org and PO/PM to design, build and maintain reliable, scalable data products/data pipelines and core data platform components that power analytics, ML, and applications. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality data across the organization. DESCRIPTION: Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain high-throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows. Implement transformation logic, data quality checks, and governance frameworks. Collaborate with platform architecture and product teams to support the foundational data platform roadmap. Optimize data flows for performance, cost, and reliability. Monitor platform health and troubleshoot ingestion or processing issues. Build reusable components that scale across markets and business units. Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others. Performs related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications and Education Requirements: 7+ years of data engineering/ development experience. Strong hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools. Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud-based warehouses. Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge: Strong verbal communication skills; strong writing and composition abilities. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective and professional relationships across the organization and with customers. Strong influencing and negotiation skills; consultative and collaborative work style. High degree of business acumen; strong technical aptitude. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Working on-site at assigned office location. Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership. Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand. Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations. Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time. Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls. Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
