About the Role We are looking for a Test Architect Playwright to lead and scale our automation strategy with Playwright as the core framework. This role is ideal for a highly hands-on automation expert who has architected robust Playwright frameworks and can drive modern, scalable, CI/CD-integrated testing practices. Key Responsibilities - Architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions using Playwright across UI, API, and integrated systems. - Design and build scalable, reusable Playwright frameworks using modern design patterns (POM, fixtures, custom utilities, modular architecture). - Establish automation standards, folder structures, naming conventions, and governance models. - Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab). - Drive cross-browser, parallel, and headless execution strategies. - Implement reporting, logging, debugging, and observability best practices. - Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, and Product teams to enable shift-left testing. - Provide technical mentorship to automation engineers and conduct framework/code reviews. - Evaluate and recommend complementary tools (API automation, mocking, test data management). - Explore and implement AI-assisted testing techniques (self-healing locators, intelligent test generation, flaky test detection). Mandatory Skills & Experience - 8+ years of experience in automation engineering. - Robust hands-on expertise in Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript mandatory; Java or Python is a plus). - Proven experience designing and scaling Playwright frameworks from scratch. - Strong understanding of: - Fixtures and custom test setup in Playwright - Parallel execution and performance optimization - Cross-browser automation strategies - API automation using Playwright or REST libraries - Deep knowledge of: - CI/CD integration - Git workflows - Automation reporting tools - Experience working in Agile environments with DevOps alignment.
