About the role
As a skilled and experienced Network Security Administrator, your role involves managing, maintaining, and securing the organization's network infrastructure. You will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Firewall Administration: - Configure, deploy, and manage FortiGate firewalls across the organization. - Monitor and maintain firewall rules, policies, and configurations for optimal security and performance. - Network Security Management: - Implement security policies to protect against internal and external threats. - Conduct periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis. - Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards. - Monitoring and Reporting: - Monitor firewall traffic, logs, and alerts to detect and mitigate threats. - Generate and analyze reports on security events, providing actionable insights. - Troubleshooting and Support: - Investigate and resolve firewall-related issues, including connectivity problems and misconfigurations. - Provide technical support and guidance to IT teams on security best practices. - Upgrades and Maintenance: - Plan and execute firmware upgrades, patches, and updates for FortiGate firewalls. - Ensure high availability and reliability of firewall systems, including failover and redundancy configurations. - Documentation and Training: - Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and procedures. - Train team members on FortiGate usage and network security practices. Qualifications and Skills: - Educational Background: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Professional Experience: - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing FortiGate firewalls in an enterprise environment. - Experience with VPNs, SD-WAN, NAT, and other network protocols. - Technical Expertise: - Strong understanding of Fortinet and Palo Alto products. - Knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and web filtering. - Familiarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) and network architecture. Certifications (Preferred): - Fortinet NSE4 or higher. - CISSP, CEH, or other relevant security certifications.
