Sr. Application Engineer

Role Overview: As a Form Fit Function Engineer at Nextracker, you will be responsible for thoroughly evaluating Form Fit Function compliance with a priority on Form and Fit requirements. Your role will involve reviewing designs for manufacturability and ensuring conformance with customer and industry standards. You will analyze deviations in Form and Fit, propose corrective actions, and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will provide detailed feedback and recommendations for design improvements based on form and fit analysis. Key Responsibilities: - Thoroughly evaluate Form Fit Function compliance prioritizing Form and Fit requirements - Review designs for manufacturability and conformance with customer and industry standards - Analyze deviations in Form and Fit, propose corrective actions, and communicate findings to cross-functional teams - Provide detailed feedback and recommendations for design improvements based on form and fit analysis - Inspect and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications, and supporting documentation - Ensure products meet quality standards through detailed assessments and by participating in quality improvement initiatives - Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to resolve product and process concerns - Participate in design reviews, supplier meetings, and validation activities related to Form Fit Function - Prepare clear technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations for internal and customer communication Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field - At least 4 years of experience in an application engineering or quality engineering role with an emphasis on Form Fit Function evaluation - Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T - Solid analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve form and fit issues - Proven track record in quality assessment and quality improvement - Effective communicator capable of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Additional Company Details: At Nextracker, we are leading the energy transition by providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants.
