Job Title: Software Development Engineer FinTech & Financial Analytics Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India (On-site) Type: Full-Time About the Role Nexus Equity Growth Fund, a Category III Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) based in Ahmedabad, is looking for a technically strong and self-driven Software Development Engineer to work directly with our investment and operations team. You'll build production-ready technology that powers the fund's analytics, trading research, and day-to-day operations — with significant ownership and direct exposure to financial markets and fund management. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to see their code used in real investment decisions. What You'll Work On - Design and build financial analytics and interactive dashboards for trading strategies, portfolio monitoring, and live Indian equity/commodity markets (NSE, BSE, MCX). - Develop and maintain a backtesting framework to evaluate trading strategies against historical market data, including performance and risk metrics. - Build quantitative tools for investment research, signal generation, and portfolio decision support. - Implement machine learning pipelines for market data analysis and predictive modeling. - Develop internal automation tools for the fund's operations and workflows. - Own the fund's IT systems and security infrastructure — manage internal systems, data security, access controls, and basic infrastructure reliability. - Evaluate and review third-party technology proposals and vendor systems on behalf of the fund. - Work closely with fund managers and analysts to turn business requirements into working solutions, and present your work regularly. What We're Looking For - Strong programming fundamentals in Python, JavaScript, or similar. - Familiarity with data analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy) and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow/Keras). - Ability to build and deploy full-stack web applications independently. - Working knowledge of databases and cloud infrastructure, with a security-conscious mindset. - Genuine interest in financial markets, investment management, or quantitative finance. - Self-driven, with the ability to take projects end-to-end with minimal supervision. - Good communication skills — you'll interact directly with fund managers and analysts. Good to Have - Exposure to Indian financial markets — equity, commodity derivatives, IPOs, or AIF operations. - Experience building dashboards with Streamlit or Plotly. - Experience designing or maintaining backtesting/trading systems. - Understanding of IT security practices, system administration, or DevOps. - Knowledge of Indian financial compliance concepts (SEBI regulations, GST, TDS). Why Join Us - Direct exposure to fund management and real financial markets from day one. - High ownership and the freedom to shape the fund's technology stack end-to-end. - Competitive compensation based on experience and skill. ---Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile Perks and benefits
