About the role
As a Field Service Engineer for our client, a global provider of advanced analytical and inspection equipment, your role will involve supporting installation, maintenance, and technical service activities at customer sites in India. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing installation, qualification, and acceptance of equipment at customer sites - Conducting preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to ensure optimal system performance and uptime - Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues in a timely manner - Providing on-site technical support and maintaining strong working relationships with customers - Coordinating with internal teams to resolve escalated technical issues - Preparing and maintaining accurate service reports, documentation, and service logs - Supporting customer training on basic operation and maintenance of systems - Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency Qualifications required for this role include: - Degree or diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related disciplines) - Prior experience in field service or equipment maintenance within semiconductor, analytical instruments, or high-precision equipment environments - Exposure to areas such as Semiconductor fab/cleanroom environment, Vacuum systems, motion control, or high-voltage systems, Metrology, inspection, or analytical instrumentation - X-ray system experience is advantageous but not mandatory - Strong troubleshooting and hands-on technical skills with the ability to work independently on-site - Good communication skills in English, proficiency in Hindi or other regional languages is beneficial - Willingness to travel extensively across India and support customer sites as required - Comfortable working in customer-facing environments, including cleanroom and industrial settings - Flexibility to support occasional on-call requirements, depending on customer needs In this role, key success factors include: - Ability to deliver high-quality, timely service support in a customer-facing environment - Strong problem-solving capability and ownership of technical issues through to resolution - Adaptability to work across diverse customer environments and locations within India - Contribution to building and strengthening local service capabilities as part of regional expansion If there are any additional details about the company in the job description, please provide them separately.
