About the role
As a Software Engineer at NIQ in Pune, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of robust and scalable software applications using Java-based technologies, database systems, and cloud platforms. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to address complex technical and business challenges. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software applications - Build and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot - Design and optimize database schemas and queries with SQL and PostgreSQL - Develop and support ETL pipelines for data ingestion and processing - Implement search and analytics capabilities using Elasticsearch - Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP - Enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery - Write clean and well-documented code following best practices - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions - Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards - Evaluate and adopt new technologies as necessary - Take ownership of assigned modules and drive them end-to-end Qualifications: - Must have 4+ years of experience in software engineering - Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot - Excellent knowledge of SQL, especially with PostgreSQL - Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and Elasticsearch - Understanding of cloud computing concepts; experience with Azure preferred - Familiarity with CI/CD tools and RESTful APIs - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proactive mindset with attention to detail - Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems Additional Information: NIQ offers a flexible working environment, volunteer time off, LinkedIn Learning, and an Employee Assistance Program.
