About the role
Role Overview: As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. The platform is currently based in Scala, Snowflake, Databricks, and Python, with a focus on adopting the best cloud-native and low-latency technologies. The team values CI/CD in all development processes and operates in an agile manner with central technology hubs in Chicago, Toronto, and Chennai. Key Responsibilities: - Develop new backend functionalities in collaboration with the frontend team. - Contribute to the expansion of NRPS scope. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python within a cloud-native architecture to ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability. - Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end product features aligned with business requirements. - Enhance and expand the Connect platform to support the development of a unified global data ecosystem powered by modern technologies such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake. - Develop and optimize database solutions using Oracle DB, including query tuning, data modeling, performance optimization, and integration with backend services. - Participate in Agile development practices and CI/CD processes, including code reviews, automated testing, deployment automation, and continuous improvement of engineering standards. - Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies and best practices to improve platform capabilities, scalability, and operational efficiency. Qualifications: - 6+ years of experience in: - Excellent level of experience with Python & Oracle DB. - Knowledge in Trino, Hive, and Oracle would be a plus. - Experience in Scala and Databricks is appreciated. - Excellent English communication skills to effectively interface across cross-functional technology teams and the business. - Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
