About the role
Research and develop silicon photonics integrated circuit technology.
Main focus is on III-V technology development and narrow-linewidth laser design.
Responsible for the development process for complex photonic devices and systems-on-chip, from design through fabrication, testing and analysis.
Support the design of active and passive photonic devices and complex photonic integrated circuits and systems (mainly focused on epitaxial growth and design and/or III-V on Si device design and test).
Develop new design approaches for device-level design and system-level optimization.
Contribute to test development and analysis of device test data to correlate design with measurements (lasers as a bar, bare-die, or SOA/nITLA subassembly).
Collaborate with other functional teams in the organization to deliver co-designed and co-optimized photonics systems (SOA, DFB/DBR circuits, and tunable laser designs and products).
Responsible for development, test, and implement tunable laser feedback control systems (such as a PDI loop, or similar).
Responsible for design of epitaxial structures, device geometries, and wafer fab processes to achieve electro-optical performance that meets or exceeds specification with production yields suitable for volume manufacturing. #LI-DNI
