Principal Network Security Engineer

As a Principal, Infra Network specializing in F5 & Checkpoint technologies at Northern Trust, you will be joining a globally recognized and award-winning financial institution with over 130 years of experience and a team of over 22,000 partners worldwide. Your role will involve reporting to the Network Manager and serving as a technical expert in networking security, with a focus on designing and implementing network security changes. Additionally, you will be expected to provide support to the network security operations team for complex issue troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities: - Define and document Network Security Standards. - Create Low Level Design documents based on High Level Design requirements. - Develop detailed Implementation Plans for engineering activities. - Oversee Procurement activities for new services. - Ensure smooth Transition/Handover to Operations as per agreed process. - Manage Technical Lifecycle for Network & Communications services. - Support Architecture in creating a Delivery Roadmap for Network Security. - Assist in scoping activities for High Level Design and Proof of Concept. - Stay updated with relevant skillsets to deliver change effectively. - Provide escalation support for complex troubleshooting and Major Incidents. - Participate in on-call escalation support and work extended hours when required. Core Skills & Experience: - Minimum 14 years of hands-on experience in network security solutions within a global enterprise. - Experience in designing and building resilient security solutions, preferably in finance or investment banking. - Understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance standards, and relevant regulations. - Knowledge of Layer 2, Layer 3 & Layer 4-7 network and security technologies. - Familiarity with testing tools, networking technologies, and troubleshooting techniques. Technical Skills & Experience: - Expertise in F5 LTM, GTM, Velos, Viprion and Check Point, Maestro, NGFW platforms. - Proficiency in Public and Private cloud security, Python, Terraform, and workflow automation. - Desirable knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching, Microsoft Active Directory, CyberArk, AWS, Azure, and more. Technical Certification: - F5-CTS, F5-CSE, F5-CADE/A - Check Point CSSE, CCSM - Cisco CCNP level Security, CCIE Security - ITILv3 foundation or higher Personal Attributes: - Highly organized and capable of working under pressure. - Strong problem management and customer service skills. - Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in global teams. - Strong communicator, both written and verbal. - Advocate for team collaboration over individual heroics. - Act with integrity and prioritize customer welfare. - Embrace company working practices, policies, and procedures.
