Software Engineer, Backend

As a Software Engineer at Notion, you will be part of a mission to empower every individual, team, and organization to customize their software solutions efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Write clean, secure, tested, and documented code. - Design & enhance the Notion platform with new capabilities. - Contribute to monitoring & scaling the architecture and infrastructure. - Write technical documentation and improve internal processes. - Assist in the recruitment of new backend employees. Qualifications Required: - 6+ years of experience in building scalable platforms. - Proficiency in database internals such as transactions, indexes, and schema design. - 2+ years of experience with AWS platform and technologies like Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda, Elastic Load Balancer. - Strong understanding of docker internals. - Good communication skills, leadership skills, attention to detail, understanding of algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles. Nice to Haves: - Proficiency with technologies like React, TypeScript, Node.js, Memcached, Postgres, Docker, and Elasticsearch. - Familiarity with computing pioneers and their contributions. - Interests outside of technology, such as art, history, or social sciences.
