Data Test Engineer ETL Testing

As an experienced ETL / DWH Tester, you will be responsible for testing data platforms built on Azure, specifically Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Factory, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, and Power BI semantic model validation. Your role will involve writing complex SQL queries for validation, understanding ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and medallion architecture. Additionally, you will leverage Python, PySpark, or similar scripting languages for automation. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct ETL / DWH testing with 8-12 years of experience - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components - Test data platforms on Azure including ADLS, ADF, Synapse, Databricks - Utilize strong SQL skills for complex validation queries - Understand ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and medallion architecture - Use Python, PySpark, or similar scripting languages for automation Qualifications Required: - 8-12 years of experience in ETL / DWH testing - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components - Strong SQL skills for complex validation queries - Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and medallion architecture - Experience with Python, PySpark, or similar scripting languages In addition to the technical skills, domain knowledge in insurance data (policies, claims, exposure, pricing, risk) and familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks (Solvency II, IFRS 17) are highly desirable. Soft skills such as strong analytical abilities, excellent communication, ability to work in agile teams, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. Nice-to-Have Skills: - Experience with Purview for data governance validation - Exposure to KQL databases and real-time analytics testing - Microsoft certifications in Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, or Power BI - Experience with test automation frameworks for data engineering The company follows a hybrid/remote work model with occasional visits to NTT offices in Delhi/NCR. You will report to the Test Lead and collaborate with Fabric Engineers, Solution Architects, and Hiscox Data Platform teams. The engagement duration will be aligned with Hiscox's data modernization roadmap.
