About the role
Job Description: As a Data Architect at Hiscox, you will play a crucial role in defining the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture for the organization. Your responsibilities will include: - Architecture & Solution Design: - Define the architecture for Hiscox, encompassing ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, and consumption layers. - Design optimized Lakehouse and Warehouse models for insurance data. - Establish data ingestion pipelines using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, and event-based patterns. - Architect semantic models and Power BI datasets for reporting and analytics. - Ensure alignment with Hiscox's enterprise architecture, security, and data governance frameworks. - Delivery & Technical Leadership: - Lead technical delivery teams for Fabric components. - Define best practices for Fabric workspace organization, CI/CD, and DevOps. - Guide teams on various technologies like Delta Lake, OneLake, KQL, Notebooks, and Data Activator. - Conduct design reviews and performance tuning for Fabric workloads. - Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions. - Present architectural decisions and roadmaps to senior stakeholders. - Work with enterprise architects, security teams, and data governance leads. - Governance, Security & Compliance: - Implement data governance using Purview integration and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Define policies for data quality, retention, encryption, and access management. - Innovation & Strategy: - Advise Hiscox on Fabric adoption strategy and modernization. - Evaluate new Fabric features and recommend adoption paths. - Drive reusable frameworks and architectural patterns. Required Skills & Experience: - Technical Expertise: - 10+ years in data architecture, with 3+ years in Azure analytics. - Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric technologies. - Strong understanding of Azure services and expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and medallion architecture. - Domain Knowledge: - Experience in insurance, preferred in P&C, specialty, or Lloyds market. - Familiarity with underwriting, claims, pricing, actuarial, and regulatory reporting data. - Soft Skills: - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to lead cross-functional teams and present to senior leadership. Nice-to-Have: - Experience with regulatory reporting standards and certifications like Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate, and Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Engagement Model: - Location: Hybrid/Remote with potential onsite visits to NTT offices (Delhi/NCR). - Duration: Multi-phase engagement aligned with Hiscoxs data modernization roadmap. - Reporting: Works with Hiscox Data Platform Lead, Enterprise Architecture, and Business Data Owners.
