About the Team

At Nutanix, you will be a part of the Platform Management Software team, a dynamic group spread out geographically. Despite the physical distance, the team is highly collaborative and supportive, fostering a great culture where employees can grow both professionally and personally. You will report to the Director of the Platforms team. As for travel requirements, Nutanix does not have extensive travel obligations, allowing employees to focus on their work and personal growth within the company.

Your Role Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Drive the design and development of infrastructure solutions that align with customer needs and maintain standards of scalability, performance, and reliability. Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to define and execute a product roadmap that addresses market trends and customer feedback. Oversee the complete product development cycle, ensuring quality and usability from design to release. Implement and uphold best practices in software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration. Stay abreast of industry trends to inform technical strategy and solve complex, large-scale problems within multi-hardware environments. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across Nutanix to integrate insights from engineering, product management, and customer success into development cycles. Establish clear first-year objectives, including scaling the engineering team, launching key product features, and enhancing overall product quality and performance.

What You Will Bring 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on cloud-native infrastructure and data management platforms. Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams (8-10 engineers). Hands-on expertise in Python, Golang, and PostgreSQL, with a keen understanding of software development processes. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed software systems will be a definite plus. Proficiency with project management tools and continuous delivery pipelines. Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM (KVM preferred Preferred experience with Hypervisors, containers, container orchestration, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Can-do attitude while solving difficult problems spanning across multiple teams

Work Arrangement Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
