Design Engineer

Role Overview: We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer to support the design and development of electric two-wheeler components and systems. The role involves working on vehicle packaging, mechanical component design, CAD modelling, prototype support, testing coordination, and design improvements to ensure performance, safety, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop Sheet metals / Fabrication / Casting / Forging components for two-wheeler. Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD tools. Prepare drawings with proper dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, material specifications, and manufacturing feasibility considerations. Participate in prototype fitment trials, testing, validation, and issue resolution. Assist in basic structural checks, weight reduction, material selection, and design optimization. Support documentation such as BOM preparation, engineering change notes, design reports, and test observations. Required Qualifications: B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/Production Engineering. Technical Skills: Good knowledge of 3D modelling, assembly design, and 2D drafting. Should be able to perform design calculations for Suspension system, Braking system, transmission system. Basic understanding of vehicle systems, sheet metal, plastic parts, casting, fabrication, and machining processes. Must be having a good understanding of Engineering mechanics. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM, and DFA principles. Basic understanding of electric vehicle architecture. Exposure to CAE/FEA tools such as ANSYS, HyperWorks, or similar tools will be an advantage. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint. Desired Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Willingness to learn electric vehicle technology and automotive design practices. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers. Ownership mindset, curiosity, and a practical approach to design challenges. Preferred Experience Hands-on exposure to Vehicle/component prototype build. Should have participated in SAE BAJA/Supra or any other relevant Design Engineering event.
