Engineer 2 - ASC-2281033

The Engineer Design contractor position for Southern Company Gas assists in the

planning, design, and development of technical standards for gas distribution

infrastructure projects. The right candidate must be a self-starter, excellent

communicator, critical thinker and able to make sound decisions.

Natural Gas is an essential part of America’s Energy mix and a trusted energy source

facilities.

As our Engineer in the design group, a typical day might include:

 Working on gas storage or gas fueling station assignments

 Performing assignments involving the design of components or functionality of

pipeline products

 Involved in the planning and design of mechanical equipment and components

involving maintenance of mechanical equipment.

 Performing system balances to determine the best overall solution to solve

system issues or identify system low points and methods to best solve them.

 Provide oversight and support for construction activities

What candidate will need to qualify for this position:

 BA/BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or General)

 3+ years of progressive Engineering experience

Or

Equivalent academic education and experience

Certifications/Licenses:

Preferred: Engineer in Training (E.I.T.)
