Job Title: Electrical Testing Engineer (HT/LT Switchyard & Power Transformers) Location: Paschim Vihar, New Delhi Experience: 38 Years Salary: 36 LPA Industry: Electrical EPC | Power Transmission | Power Distribution | Substations | Transformer Manufacturing About the Role We are looking for an experienced Electrical Testing Engineer with hands-on expertise in testing HT/LT switchyard equipment, power transformers, substations, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in electrical testing, pre-commissioning activities, troubleshooting, preparation of test reports, and ensuring equipment is ready for safe energization as per industry standards. Key Responsibilities Perform testing of HT/LT switchyard equipment, power transformers, substations, and associated electrical systems. Carry out Insulation Resistance (IR), Winding Resistance, Transformer Ratio Test (TTR), Vector Group Verification, Polarity Test, Continuity Test, Functional Test, and Magnetic Balance Test. Perform testing of Circuit Breakers, Current Transformers (CT), Potential Transformers (PT), Isolators, Lightning Arresters, Busbars, HT/LT Panels, Control & Protection Panels, and Switchyard Equipment. Conduct Primary Injection, Secondary Injection, Contact Resistance, Micro Ohm, Earth Resistance, and Cable Testing. Perform pre-commissioning checks and ensure all equipment is ready for commissioning and energization. Prepare test reports, inspection reports, punch point reports, and testing documentation. Coordinate with commissioning, project execution, QA/QC, and client teams during testing activities. Troubleshoot electrical faults identified during testing and recommend corrective actions. Verify testing results in accordance with IEC, IS, and project specifications. Ensure proper calibration and safe operation of all electrical testing equipment. Review SLDs, GA Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Protection Schematics, and technical documents before testing activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and project documentation requirements. Travel to project sites for testing and commissioning support whenever required. Required Skills Strong hands-on experience in HT/LT Switchyard and Power Transformer Testing. Good knowledge of testing procedures for transformers, switchyard equipment, HT/LT panels, circuit breakers, CTs, PTs, isolators, protection panels, and electrical equipment. Hands-on experience using Omicron, Megger, CPC 100, CT Analyzer, TTR Kit, Primary Injection Kit, Secondary Injection Kit, Micro Ohm Meter, Insulation Resistance Tester, and Earth Resistance Tester. Ability to analyze test results and identify electrical defects before commissioning. Ability to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA) Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Protection Schematics, and electrical drawings. Good knowledge of IEC, IS, and electrical testing standards. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and reporting skills. Willingness to travel extensively across India for project testing activities. Qualifications Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. 38 years of hands-on experience in testing HT/LT switchyards, power transformers, substations, and electrical equipment. Must be located within commutable distance to New Delhi, Delhi, India. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with transformer manufacturers, electrical EPC companies, power transmission utilities, distribution utilities, or substation projects. Experience in testing power transformers, switchyard equipment, HT/LT electrical systems, control & protection panels, and substation equipment. Exposure to pre-commissioning activities, commissioning support, fault analysis, and electrical project documentation. Familiarity with IEC/IS testing standards and preparation of testing reports. .
