Job Description – ETP Lead (Effluent Treatment Plant) Position ETP Lead Department Engineering / Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Location Kathua, Jammu Qualification B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory) Additional certifications in Environmental Engineering, Water/Wastewater Treatment, or EHS will be an added advantage. Experience 15 to 20 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/ Chemical industry. Hands-on experience in the design, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP). Experience in handling Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), STP, RO, MEE, ATFD, and other wastewater treatment systems is preferred. Experience in greenfield/brownfield project execution and plant expansion is desirable. Job Summary The ETP Lead will be responsible for the design review, commissioning support, operation, maintenance, optimization, and regulatory compliance of the Effluent Treatment Plant. The role ensures uninterrupted ETP performance, environmental compliance, cost optimization, and safe operation while supporting the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Key Responsibilities Design & Projects Participate in the design, engineering review, and commissioning of new ETP and wastewater treatment systems. Review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, hydraulic calculations, and process design documents. Coordinate with consultants, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers during project execution. Support capacity enhancement, process optimization, and debottlenecking initiatives. Operations Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the ETP, STP, and associated wastewater treatment systems. Monitor influent and treated water quality to ensure compliance with statutory discharge norms. Optimize chemical consumption, energy usage, and overall treatment efficiency. Maintain required process parameters for biological, chemical, and physical treatment systems. Maintenance Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance activities. Ensure high equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Maintain critical spare parts inventory and annual maintenance plans. Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with Pollution Control Board regulations and environmental standards. Maintain statutory records, operating logs, calibration records, and environmental reports. Coordinate inspections and environmental audits by regulatory authorities. Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other management system requirements. Health, Safety & Environment Promote safe work practices and ensure adherence to EHS policies. Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste and treatment chemicals. Team Leadership Lead and mentor ETP operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel. Prepare shift schedules, training plans, and competency development programs. Coordinate with Production, Quality, Utilities, Engineering, and EHS teams for efficient plant operations.
