About the role
Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer Experience: 5-8 Years Location: Hyderabad, India Role Summary Own the design, build, and maintenance of the Internal Developer Platform (IDPs) self-service tooling and infrastructure-as-code automation. This role is responsible for turning developer-facing self-service requests into provisioned, production-grade AWS/EKS infrastructure. Key Job Responsibilities Author and maintain Terraform infrastructure-as-code for IDP tooling-triggered provisioning actions. Build application bootstrapping and cloud infrastructure definitions using Projen + AWS CDK. Integrate Cookiecutter-based project template generation into the IDP's self-service tooling action set. Configure JFrog artifact and pipeline integration for IDP tooling-triggered builds. Provision and manage AWS EKS as the target compute environment Integrate GitHub Actions (GHA) CI pipeline actions invoked directly by the IDP's self-service tooling. Build the read-only mainframe (IBM i/z) catalog entity provider, including metadata and ownership mapping Primary & Secondary Skills Primary Skills (Must-Have) Backstage.io (plugins, IDP tooling/actions, TypeScript/JavaScript/React) Terraform (IaC authoring) Projen + AWS CDK AWS EKS workload provisioning Kubernetes strong (pods, deployments, services) AWS strong (EKS, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM) CI/CD pipeline design (GitHub Actions) Design, orchestrate, and optimize pipelines using Argo Workflows. Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have) Cookiecutter JFrog (artifact/pipeline integration) Docker & Helm Observability basics (Prometheus/Grafana) Mainframe (IBM i/z) read-only catalog integration Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 5–8 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud/Infrastructure Engineering. Hands-on production experience with Terraform and AWS CDK (or equivalent IaC frameworks). Strong working experience with Kubernetes/EKS in production environments; CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) preferred. Prior experience building on or extending Backstage / internal developer platforms (IDPs); Certified Backstage Associate (CBA) is a plus. AWS certification (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer) preferred.
