Requisition Summary:

PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the design development and Integration of vehicle chassis frame.

As a Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR, your expertise will be leveraged in Layout development, component packaging, installation drawing, and coordination with cross functional team to ensure frame & components are installed safely, efficiently and compliant with technical requirements. Job Function / Responsibilities:

Vehicle frame layout development, including mounting systems, brackets, and interfaces.

Preparation of 3D CAD design and create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, BOM creation.

Routing and packaging of auxiliaries such as exhaust, cooling lines, hoses, wiring, and fuel lines.

Perform calculations related to clearances, envelopes and mass properties.

Work on large assemblies, including effective use of simplified representations.

Collaborate with cross ‑ functional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.

The primary function for this position includes:

Execution on CAD – sheetmetal, advance modeling and assembly, drawing.

NX & Teamcenter proficiency

Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T, and Bill of Material (BOM).

Design of frame & its components and mountings.

Collaborate with team members and execute the design activity.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering

Required Skills:

1-4 years of hands ‑ on experience in Mechanical engineering.

Familiar with chassis systems and interfaces.

Strong understanding of sheet ‑ metal design and manufacturing processes.

Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.

Basic/intermediate understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack ‑ up, and engineering drawing practices.

Knowledge of tool clearance and ergonomic assessments.

Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams

Desired Skills:

ECR/ECN release system will be an added advantage.

Familiar with truck systems and components

Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.

Familiar with validation, test procedures and issue resolution
