About the role
PACCAR India is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the design and development of Vehicle integration include powertrain, engine packaging, Chassis, fuel & Air intake system.
As a Mechanical Engineer at PACCAR, you will leverage your expertise in Piping, Sheet-metal, Casting design, CAD modeling, and manufacturing processes to create robust, ergonomic, and manufacturable solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualize & design Air Intake pipe, power steering line, Engine leg, and engine packaging.
Develop robust sheet ‑ metal & Casting bracket designs with good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Create detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T, BOM creation, and adherence to engineering standards.
Perform packaging, tool clearance studies and apply ergonomics principles in design.
Work on large assemblies, including effective use of simplified representations.
Collaborate with cross ‑ functional teams locally and globally to ensure design alignment and manufacturability.
The primary function for this position includes:
Execution on CAD – Advance Sheetmetal, Casting, Piping modeling and assembly, drawing.
Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T, and Bill of Material (BOM).
Familiar with commercial Vehicle powertrain and IC Engine peripheral components
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering
Knowledge & Skills REQUIRED:
1–3 years of hands ‑ on experience in Mechanical engineering.
Strong proficiency in Creo Parametric and Windchill.
Solid understanding of sheet ‑ metal Piping & Casting design and manufacturing processes.
Familiar with truck systems and components.
Ability to manage and design large assemblies efficiently.
Excellent understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack ‑ up, and engineering drawing practices.
Experience in tool clearance, reliability, and ergonomic assessments.
Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams.
Technical / Professional Experience Desired:
Creo Simulation – an added advantage.
