About the role
Linux Administration At Pace Stock Broking Services Pvt Ltd Gurugram, Haryana, India Pace is a prominent brokerage firm in India, with memberships across NSE, BSE, MCX, and NCDEX. Leveraging our extensive experience in Indian markets, we have established an advanced high-frequency trading system, driven by a team of industry-leading experts from top HFT firms. Responsibilities - Perform regular health checks and monitoring of overall infrastructure - Configure, deploy, and manage Linux services on bare-metal servers - Manage and maintain SLURM clusters and distributed storage system - Handle networking setup including routing, VLANs, bonding, and NIC tuning - Server provisioning, OS installation, and infrastructure standardization - Manage drivers, packages, kernel modules, and firmware updates - Perform performance tuning, overclocking, and low-latency optimizations - Benchmark different kernels, server configurations, and hardware setups - Automate routine operational tasks using scripts and configuration tools - Troubleshoot system, network, and performance-related issues Required Skills : - Hands-on experience with Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky/Alma) - Basic understanding of server hardware, BIOS, firmware, and networking - Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, and VLANs - Shell scripting (Bash); Python is a plus - Exposure to automation tools like Ansible or similar - Familiarity with performance and benchmarking tools (fio, iperf, sysbench, perf) Valuable to have : - Exposure to SLURM or HPC environments - Knowledge of distributed storage (Ceph, GlusterFS, Lustre, NFS) - Understanding of kernel tuning, NUMA, CPU pinning, and HugePages - Experience with low-latency or high-performance computing environments - Exposure to data center or bare-metal infrastructure Why should you join us - Good Peers and a relaxed work environment: While everyone believes in hard work, we like to have fun and keep the working environment light, engaging, positive, and open to new ideas. - Cutting-edge technology: HFT industry drives a lot of innovation in hardware, computer networking, and the fintech domain.
