Principal Databricks Solution Architect Location: Hyderabad (Work from Office) Experience: 12 to 15 Years About SmartBots SmartBots is an AI-first technology consulting company specializing in Data, Analytics, Cloud and AI solutions. As a Databricks Consulting & Implementation Partner, we help enterprises modernize their data platforms and build scalable Lakehouse solutions. We are looking for an experienced Principal Databricks Solution Architect to serve as the technical face of SmartBots. This role combines customer consulting, solution architecture, pre-sales support, and technical leadership to drive successful Databricks engagements. Key Responsibilities Engage with enterprise customers to understand business and technical requirements and recommend modern data platform solutions. Lead discovery workshops and design scalable Databricks Lakehouse architectures. Architect end-to-end data solutions including data ingestion, ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines, governance, and performance optimization. Define migration strategies from legacy data platforms to Databricks. Support the sales team with solution design, technical presentations, solution demonstrations, RFP/RFI responses, effort estimation, and Proof of Concepts (POCs). Architect winning Databricks solutions for prospective customers by clearly articulating the technical and business value of the proposed architecture. Provide architectural governance and technical direction throughout project delivery, ensuring adherence to best practices for scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization. Mentor engineering teams and establish architecture standards and reusable best practices across Databricks engagements. Required Skills & Experience 1215 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Cloud Data Platforms. Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience with the Databricks Lakehouse Platform. Databricks Professional Certification is mandatory (Data Engineer Professional or equivalent). Advanced or Specialty Databricks certifications are highly preferred. Proven experience architecting enterprise-scale Databricks solutions for customers and successfully supporting pre-sales engagements. Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks SQL, Databricks Workflows, and Medallion Architecture. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modelling, data integration, governance, and performance tuning. Experience modernizing legacy data platforms and migrating workloads to Databricks. Experience working on Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. Strong SQL and Python programming skills. Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, consulting, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Databricks Consulting Partners or System Integrators. Experience delivering solutions across industries such as BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail, or Healthcare. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Synapse, Kafka, or other modern data platforms.
