About the role
Role & responsibilities The Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for governing and strengthening the overall quality assurance framework for Application Management Services (AMS) delivered by external partners from India to global business regions including Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific . This role will ensure that testing strategies, release quality, defect prevention, regression completeness, and production readiness are consistently maintained at high standards across enterprise applications. The role will act as a key governance lead between regional stakeholders, AMS partners, release teams, and internal IT/application teams to ensure high-quality releases, lower defect leakage, better production stability, and stronger root cause resolution. The incumbent will challenge partner testing quality, analyze incident trends, review defects and RCAs, drive corrective actions, and establish continuous quality improvement mechanisms across the support and release lifecycle. 2. Key Responsibilities A. Testing Strategy and Quality Governance Review and govern the Partners testingstrategy, test planning, coverage, and execution quality for all releases, enhancements, fixes, and changes. Ensure testing approach is aligned with business criticality, application risk, change complexity, and regional process requirements. Validate that the partner follows a robust quality assurance methodology across functional, integration, regression, and user-impacting scenarios. Challenge weak or incomplete test approaches and enforce stronger quality controls before release approval. Ensure testing standards, entry/exit criteria, quality checkpoints, and traceability mechanisms are consistently followed. B. Regression Testing Validation Validate regression testing completeness for all releases and identify gaps that may impact production stability. Ensure regression scope adequately covers critical business processes, integrations, configurations, interfaces, workflows, and impacted downstream systems. C. Release Readiness and Quality Gates Review quality gates before production deployment and challenge release readiness where testing outcomes, open defects, or risk assessments are inadequate. Ensure all pre-deployment quality criteria are met, including: Test completion status Defect closure / defect severity review Business validation evidence Risk assessment Rollback readiness D. Defect Leakage and Production Stability Improvement Analyze defect leakage trends and identify root causes for quality escapes into production. Hold the Partner accountable for reduction in defect leakage and improvement in release quality. 3. Required Skills Strong understanding of quality assurance governance in AMS / enterprise applications environments Expertise in: Testing lifecycle governance Regression validation Defect management Release quality assurance RCA review and corrective action tracking Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret incident trends, defect leakage patterns, and release quality risks Ability to challenge partner teams in a structured and governance-oriented manner Good understanding of change management, release management, and production support processes Strong documentation, reporting, dashboarding, and presentation skills
