UPI Payment Consultant - BA

Hiring: Payments Consultant UPI | NPCI | FinTech Product & Business Analyst We're looking for an experienced Payments Consultant to join our early-stage fintech startup and help build a next-generation UPI payments platform in India. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the Indian payments ecosystem and can work closely with founders, product teams, engineers, banking partners, and compliance teams to take a product from idea to launch. Key Responsibilities - Lead UPI payment product design and implementation. - Work on NPCI and banking integrations. - Gather business requirements and prepare BRDs, PRDs, user stories, and functional specifications. - Collaborate with engineering teams to define application architecture, APIs, frontend, backend, and database design. - Design payment workflows, merchant onboarding, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction lifecycle. - Support product roadmap, MVP planning, and feature prioritization. - Ensure alignment with RBI, NPCI, security, and compliance requirements. - Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for payments and help build scalable processes for a growing startup. Required Skills - Strong knowledge of UPI, NPCI, digital payments, and payment ecosystems. - Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Consultant, or Payments Consultant. - Understanding of payment APIs, system architecture, and fintech platforms. - Experience working with engineering teams on mobile and web applications. - Knowledge of payment gateways, wallets, QR payments, merchant solutions, and reconciliation. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. - Startup experience is highly preferred. Preferred Experience - 815+ years in payments, fintech, banking, or digital financial services. - Experience working with UPI, NPCI, PSPs, payment gateways, or sponsor banks. - Proven ability to build or scale payment products from concept to production.
