Senior Data Engineer AI Semantic & Metrics Layer Location: Hyderabad (Hitech City) / Bengaluru (Chikkakannalli) Hybrid 23 days onsite Duration: Fulltime Experience: 8-9 Years+ Shift Timings: 2:00 PM 10:00 PM IST (or flexible split shift) Role Overview Our Client is transitioning its organization from traditional BI analytics to AI-driven analytics. We need a Senior Data Engineer to own and expand our central Semantic Layerthe core business definitions layer that powers our AI Agents. You will bridge the gap between technical data models and customer support business logic, ensuring our downstream AI bots always draw accurate, standardized metrics. Key Responsibilities Semantic Layer Architecture: Build and maintain standardized metric definitions within Client's internal Semantic Layer to serve as a single source of truth for AI agents.Data & Business Logic Modeling: Translate complex operational KPIs into codified business logic that AI models and end-user interfaces can reference seamlessly.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, customer support leads, and AI infrastructure teams to resolve metric discrepancies across departments.Data Preparation for AI: Structure metrics and business knowledge so downstream AI agents can perform automated, self-service business analysis.Key Requirements 6+ years of experience in Data/Analytics Engineering using Python, SQL, and modern data modeling frameworks (dbt, Cube, or proprietary metric store layers).Deep understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling and defining standardized business KPIs.Strong domain comprehensionability to quickly learn customer support operations and business workflows.Exposure to AI/LLM integration concepts or semantic retrieval is a strong plus.High autonomy, strong business acumen, and proactive initiative-taking.
