About the role
About the Role We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Zscaler and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions. This is a specialized role focused on the intersection of traditional networking, advanced security, and cloud-native connectivity. Unlike generalist support roles, this position is dedicated to maintaining high-performance security environments and optimizing cloud-to-on-premise integrations like Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect. Work Set-up: 100% Work from home Work Schedule: Mid to Night Shift (9-hour shift falling within 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM UK Time / 3:00 PM – 4:00 AM PH Time ) On-Call: Reactive on-call support as required for high-priority security or cloud incidents What You'll Do (Duties and Responsibilities) Zscaler Subject Matter Expert: Act as the primary point of escalation for complex Zscaler environment troubleshooting, ensuring secure and seamless user access. Cloud Connectivity Optimization: Oversee and troubleshoot the integration of Zscaler monitoring with cloud infrastructure, specifically focusing on Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect. Security Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve sophisticated network and security incidents within a multi-vendor environment with a focus on SME-level resolution. Infrastructure Integrity: Administer and maintain customer infrastructure following strict change control processes to ensure zero-downtime security updates. Technical Documentation & Mentorship: Develop specialized SOPs and technical diagrams for cloud-security architectures while mentoring junior NOC staff on SASE best practices. Service Excellence: Generate high-level reporting on security posture and cloud performance for Managed Service delivery stakeholders. What You Bring (Skills, Qualifications or Experience) Certification: MUST be CCNP certified with an ACTIVE certification status. Zscaler Expertise: Proven, SME-level hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of Zscaler environments. Advanced Networking: Deep technical understanding of BGP, VRFs, QoS, Multicast, and Tunneling protocols. Hardware Maintenance: Experience upgrading firmware on diverse infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points (APs). Service Background: Previous experience in a 2nd line support role within an MSP or IT Solutions Provider environment. Process Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL best practices and incident management systems such as ServiceNow, Zendesk, or HaloITSM. Soft Skills: Customer-centric approach with the ability to communicate complex technical security issues to diverse stakeholders. Nice to Have Direct experience with Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect. Operational knowledge of Juniper Mist and SD-WAN technologies. Experience in high-pressure, low-latency environments such as Media Broadcasting or Finance.
