About the role
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Penta Consulting, you will play a crucial role in configuring, administering, and optimizing the New Relic observability platform for enterprise applications and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include: - Implementing various monitoring tools such as Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Infrastructure Monitoring, Browser Monitoring, Mobile Monitoring, Synthetic Monitoring, and Log Management. - Developing custom dashboards, alerts, Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure effective monitoring. - Proactively monitoring application health, infrastructure performance, and user experience to identify and address any performance bottlenecks. - Collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to analyze and resolve performance issues. - Participating in incident response, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and contributing to post-incident reviews. - Automating operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline processes. - Supporting production deployments and validating releases to maintain system stability. - Establishing and upholding observability standards and monitoring best practices. - Engaging with DevOps, Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to enhance platform reliability. In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate should possess the following technical skills: - Proficiency in New Relic One Platform and its various features. - Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Infrastructure Monitoring, Browser Monitoring, Mobile Monitoring, Synthetic Monitoring, Distributed Tracing, and Log Management. - Knowledge of Error Tracking, Workloads, Service Maps, and New Relic Query Language (NRQL). - Ability to configure dashboards and alerts effectively.
