Senior PLC Automation Engineer

Job Description:

Lead and manage automation projects with a focus on Rockwell Controls, ensuring high-quality standards and alignment with company objectives.

Design and implement Cognex/Keyence Vision Systems to enhance production quality and efficiency.

Develop and optimize SCARA robot operations for precise and repetitive tasks in manufacturing processes.

Conduct comprehensive Validation Protocols – IQ/OQ/PQ for Pharma/Medical Device machines to ensure compliance and performance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare User Requirement Specifications (URS) that meet project goals and regulatory requirements.

Maintain a thorough understanding of 21CFR Part 11 regulations to ensure electronic records and electronic signatures meet FDA guidelines.

Apply knowledge of NFPA-79 to ensure electrical safety standards are met in industrial machinery.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Machine/PLC programs to minimize downtime and maintain operational excellence.

Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering, with a proven track record of successful project management.

• Expertise in Rockwell Controls and a strong background in vision systems, preferably Cognex/Keyence.

• Hands-on experience with SCARA robots and a solid understanding of their application in the industry.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct Validation Protocols – IQ/OQ/PQ, specifically in the Pharma/Medical Device sectors.

• Experience in preparing URS documents and a clear understanding of the importance of aligning them with business and regulatory demands.

• In-depth knowledge of 21CFR Part 11 and NFPA-79, with the ability to apply these standards in a practical setting.

• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in Machine/PLC program troubleshooting are essential.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a commitment to developing team members and improving processes.
