About the role
- Job Purpose To lead and direct the engineering and maintenance function across the Maharashtra Cluster, ensuring 100% asset reliability, statutory compliance, operational safety, and cost optimization . The role is accountable for budgeting, energy conservation, people development, and seamless coordination between central engineering teams and site-level execution to achieve world-class manufacturing benchmarks. 2. Key Responsibilitie sA. Asset Management & Budget sDefine, implement, and continuously monitor Roles & Responsibilities (R&R ), Maintenance Index (MI ), and Key Indicators (KI ) for engineering teams across all sites in the cluster .Plan, control, and oversee annual Repair & Maintenance (R&M ) and CAPE X budgets; ensure 100% on-time executio n of all planned activities .Maintain 100% availabilit y of safety-critical assets and ≥99.5% availabilit y for service-critical equipment .Ensure the asset register is always accurate and updated; manage asset transfers and retirements strictly per company procedure .Ensure ≥90% critical-spares availabilit y to minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR ) and avoid production losses .B. Safety Leadershi pDrive a zero-accident cultur e; achieve zero maintenance-related accident s by enforcing proper machine guards, safety interlocks, and work permit systems .Ensure all packing lines and equipment are commissioned with 360° safety guard s and tamper-proof interlock s post-HOTO, PM, or overhauling .Ensure all maintenance jobs are executed with proper permit s, Job Safety Analysis (JSA ), and engineering control s .C. Process Complianc eEnforce Pidilite SOP s (or equivalent industry-best practices) and globally benchmarked standards for equipment care and safety .Rank equipment by criticality; continuously monitor and improve Preventive Maintenance (PM) complianc e .Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA ) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA ) for all breakdowns (especially >4 hours) to eliminate repeat failures .Ensure 100% statutory complianc e in all engineering and maintenance activities, including IBR, electrical safety, lifting tools, and environmental regulations .D. Energy Conservatio nIdentify and implement energy-saving initiative s; meet or exceed company consumption benchmarks for fuel and power .Regularly report energy usage ratios and lead continuous improvement effort s to reduce specific energy consumption per unit of production .E. People Developmen tEnsure adequate staffin g in engineering functions; engage teams with clear R&R and career progression plans .Drive ≥90% completio n of Role-Based Training Matrix (RBTM ) to build and sustain technical competence across all engineering staff .F. Central–Site Coordinatio nPartner with central engineering team s to deploy best practices, new technologies, and process improvements at cluster sites .Actively participate in IRMs (Inter-Unit Review Meetings ); monitor brownfield projec t progress and ensure timely delivery .Leverage cross-functional capabilitie s (Operations, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain) to optimize overall plant performance . 3. Key Performance Indicators (Review Inde x)Section A – Governan ceReview of previous Minutes of Meeting s.Closure of all pending action item s.4.
