We currently have a career opportunity for an Apigee Architect to join our team located in New York City.

Job Overview

The Technical Architect provides technology direction, ensures project implementation compliance, and utilizes technology research to innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions. As a Technology Architect, you will significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; you will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high quality solutions, participate in Sales and various pursuits focused on our clients' business needs. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Leadership team and may mentor Junior Architects and /or development team members.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement scalable API solutions using Google Apigee X/Hybrid.
  • Design API proxies, policies, and security models (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
  • Lead integration efforts with backend systems, microservices, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Define and enforce API governance, lifecycle management, and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor development teams on Apigee and API design.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in API architecture and development.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Apigee.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth2, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of API Products, Apps, Analytics and API economy concepts
  • Experience developing AI/API strategy and capability roadmaps aligning to enterprise goals
  • Experience defining AI/API governance, standards & best practices, and center of excellence
  • Experience developing AI/API architectures, implementations, integrations, and deployments
  • Experience with GCP Networking
  • Deep understanding of Apigee components and infrastructure deployment models
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms is a plus.
  • A solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations including ethical considerations is expected
  • Preferred skills and education:
  • Google Application Integration experience preferred
  • Mulesoft, Data Power, Boomi experience nice to have
  • Apigee certifications / skill badges nice to have

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $81978 to $149880.
