About Position: We are looking for a skilled Application Server / Middleware Engineer to manage and support enterprise-grade middleware environments. The role involves installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of application servers such as JWS Tomcat, JBoss EAP, and NGINX. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and seamless deployment of applications while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to optimize system performance and reliability. - Role: Application Server / Middleware Engineer - Location: Pune - Experience: 510 years (customise as needed) - Job Type: Full Time Employment What Youll Do: - Design, configure, administer, and support middleware platforms including Tomcat, JBoss EAP, and NGINX - Build and maintain standardised middleware configurations including clustering, load balancing, and SSL/TLS - Manage middleware lifecycle: upgrades, patching, performance optimisation, and decommissioning - Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshooting performance, memory, connection pooling, and JVM-related issues - Support application deployments (WAR/EAR/JAR) and containerbased setups including ECS - Work with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and automation tools like Chef or similar - Implement middleware security hardening, certificate management, TLS, authentication & authorisation - Work across hybrid environments: onprem, VMs, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift/ECS - Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance Expertise Youll Bring: - You bring handson experience with enterprise middleware technologies and the ability to run, stabilise, and scale productiongrade application server platforms. - Strong handson experience with JWS Tomcat 9.x/10.x, Red Hat JBoss EAP 7.x, and NGINX - Deep understanding of Java application server architecture & JVM fundamentals - Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration (RHEL preferred) - Experience with application deployment, configuration management, and log analysis - Familiarity with SSL/TLS, certificates, keystores, truststores - Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST, load balancing, and networking basics - Experience with monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana etc.) - Handson experience in incident/change/problem management (ITIL) Nice to Have: - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ECS - Exposure to automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef - Cloud experience (AWS preferred) - Knowledge of WebSphere or other enterprise middleware stacks - Experience in banking or regulated environments Educational Background: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience - Relevant professional certifications Benefits: - Market-competitive salary and benefits package - Culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities and company-sponsored higher education and certifications - Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies - Employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards - Annual health check-ups - Insurance coverage: group term life, personal accident, and Mediclaim hospitalization for self, spouse, two children, and parents Values-Driven, People-Centric & Inclusive Work Environment: Persistent is dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
