Kafka Administration

You will be responsible for managing and supporting enterprise messaging platforms, specifically focusing on maintaining and optimizing Kafka clusters to ensure high availability. Your role as a Kafka Administrator will involve hands-on experience in Kafka administration and production support. Join our team to work on scalable, real-time streaming data solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and administer Kafka clusters (Prod & Non-Prod) to ensure high availability and fault tolerance - Configure and maintain Kafka Brokers, Zookeeper (or KRaft), Topics, Partitions, and Replication - Handle cluster setup, upgrades, patching, and capacity planning - Ensure security through authentication, authorization, TLS, and data encryption - Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot production incidents, and ensure SLA adherence - Monitor cluster health, performance, and availability using standard monitoring tools - Perform incident management, root cause analysis, and resolution - Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation Qualifications Required: - Expertise in tuning Kafka clusters for high throughput and low latency - Experience in capacity planning and scaling of clusters based on workload trends - Ability to optimize log retention, broker configurations, and partition strategies - Knowledge of managing and supporting components such as Kafka Connect (source/sink connectors), Schema Registry, KSQL / Stream processing components, and Replicator / Cluster Linking - Familiarity with supporting onboarding of applications and integration with the Kafka platform Persistent offers a competitive salary and benefits package, with a culture focused on talent development and quarterly growth opportunities.
