Power BI SQL Tester

Role Overview: You will be a QA Engineer specializing in Power BI and SQL testing, responsible for validating data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy, and verifying BI reports against business requirements. As a Power BI SQL Tester, you will be located in Pune with 4 to 6 years of experience in a full-time employment role. Key Responsibilities: - Perform end-to-end data testing across data pipelines and reporting layers - Validate various aspects such as data ingestion from source systems, ETL/ELT transformations, fact and dimension tables, KPI calculations, and business rules - Conduct Source-to-Target (S2T) validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness - Design and execute data validation test cases, reconciliation and data comparison checks, historical and incremental load validation - Validate Power BI dashboards and reports against backend data and business logic - Execute SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting - Identify, log, and track defects; support root cause analysis - Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and test scenarios - Support UAT cycles and ensure timely closure of defects - Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives) Qualifications Required: - 5 to 6 years of experience in QA / Data Testing - Strong hands-on experience in SQL for data validation, reconciliation, and complex query-based testing - Experience in ETL/ELT testing - Experience validating Power BI dashboards/reports - Hands-on experience with Data Warehouses/Data Lakes - Good understanding of data modeling concepts (fact & dimension tables) - Strong defect tracking and test management experience (JIRA/ADO) - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments - Basic exposure to test automation (SQL/Python-based validation) - Experience with Snowflake/Azure Data Platform - Understanding of data quality checks and governance - Exposure to tools like ADF/StreamSets (optional) Additional Company Details: Persistent offers a competitive salary and benefits package, a culture focused on talent development with quarterly growth opportunities, company-sponsored higher education and certifications, and employee engagement initiatives such as project parties, flexible work hours, and Long Service awards.
