About the role
Role Overview: As a Progress Database Administrator (DBA) at our company, you will be responsible for managing QAD databases to ensure optimal performance, handle production issues, and provide 24/7 support through automation and backup management. You will work in locations like Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai, bringing 5 to 8 years of experience to this full-time position. Key Responsibilities: - Manage Progress/QAD database environments to ensure performance, availability, and smooth operations - Monitor and enhance database and system performance - Handle production issues, outages, and perform root cause analysis - Manage backup, recovery, and conduct database health checks - Automate tasks and script for database-related activities - Provide support for 24/7 Cloud Ops and resolve customer tickets promptly - Create documentation, SOPs, and deployment plans for operational tasks Qualifications Required: - Strong expertise in Progress/QAD database administration - Proficiency in database performance tuning and issue troubleshooting - Hands-on experience with Linux OS and SQL databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, and MariaDB - Knowledge of backup, recovery, and database monitoring processes - Experience in scripting and automation using Bash or Python - Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Additional Company Details: Persistent is committed to creating a values-driven, people-centric, and inclusive work environment.
