QA Automation (Python + ML)

Role Overview: You will be joining a high-impact engineering team at Persistent, responsible for building a Python-based platform to power APIs, data/ML pipelines, and GenAI capabilities. Your primary mission will be to establish quality as a core engineering discipline from scratch. You will work closely with backend engineers, ML engineers, SREs, and product teams to ensure the quality of everything shipped. Key Responsibilities: - Build quality as a platform, defining and implementing end-to-end automated testing strategy across APIs, data pipelines, and GenAI services - Develop Python-based testing frameworks using Pytest, including async testing, and establish a scalable, reusable test architecture for teams to adopt - Design and implement automated API testing for FastAPI-based services, ensuring functional correctness, resilience, and edge-case coverage - Lead quality initiatives for AI/LLM systems, including building evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs and defining quality metrics - Establish quality gates in CI/CD using GitHub Actions, drive shift-left quality, and participate in design discussions and architecture reviews - Design and implement performance tests for APIs and services, validate behavior under load and failure scenarios, and ensure quality signals are visible via Grafana and observability tools - Contribute to ensuring secure and resilient systems, including LLM-specific risks, and contribute to governance and standardization efforts Qualifications Required: - 6+ years of experience in QA/SDET/Quality Engineering roles - Strong experience in Python-based test automation, particularly with Pytest - Proven experience testing APIs (REST) and building test frameworks from scratch - Hands-on experience with LLM or AI system validation and familiarity with defining evaluation metrics for model outputs - Deep automation mindset with a focus on 90-100% automated testing environments Additional Details of the Company: Persistent is an AI-led, platform-driven Digital Engineering and Enterprise Modernization partner, recognized for its disruptor's mindset, commitment to client success, and sustained growth momentum.
