Role Overview: As a Usability Designer with the Emergency Care Design team at Philips in Bangalore, your role is pivotal in ensuring that the basic and advanced life support solutions are safe, effective, efficient, intuitive, and satisfactory for users. You will collaborate with a global team to advocate for user needs and patient safety throughout the design and development process. Key Responsibilities: - Define usability strategy and lead usability activities in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team - Conduct user research, task analysis, and create use scenarios - Create the usability engineering plan and lead usability FMEA - Analyze post-market data and identify usability issues - Support the development of user-centered UI and UX solutions - Plan, execute, and report formative and summative user evaluations in compliance with regulatory requirements Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, HCI, Cognitive Science, Product/Interaction Design, or related field - Minimum 12 years of experience in usability engineering of complex systems and medical devices - Experience in conducting task analysis, providing inputs to UI/UX designers, and reporting usability evaluations - Knowledge of FDA guidance and IEC62366-1 for usability of medical devices - Understanding of quality systems and risk management principles - Experience in healthcare domain and clinical workflows - Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and global organizations - Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills - Proficiency in writing high-quality formal documentation in English Additional Details: Philips is a health technology company committed to providing quality healthcare for all.
