Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead specializing in Messaging & Streaming with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust messaging systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kafka, AWS messaging platforms, Terraform, and a strong background in software engineering concepts. This role requires leadership capabilities to drive messaging system architecture, implementation, and operational stability.

Responsibilities

• Software Engineering Expertise:

• Possess formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 8+ years of applied experience.

• Messaging Systems Expertise:

• Expertise in messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.

• Kafka Platform Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of Kafka concepts, managed Kafka, topic migration, multi-cloud cluster connectivity, replication, and platform-level intricacies.

• Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning:

• Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

• AWS Messaging Platforms:

• Proficiency in AWS messaging platforms like Amazon MSK, Amazon MQ, Amazon SQS, etc.

• Programming Proficiency:

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, etc.

• Microservice Architecture:

• Good understanding and knowledge of microservice architecture and implementation.

• System Design and Development:

• Hands-on experience in delivering messaging systems design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.

• Independent Problem Solving:

• Ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight, working effectively with large cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

• Extensive hands-on experience with messaging systems like Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.

• Deep understanding and practical experience with Kafka concepts and managed Kafka services.

• Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.

• Strong proficiency in AWS messaging platforms (Amazon MSK, Amazon MQ, Amazon SQS, etc.).

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.).

• Experience with microservice architecture and implementation.

• Proven ability to design, develop, and deploy messaging systems, ensuring operational stability.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications related to Kafka or AWS messaging services.

• Previous experience in a senior leadership role focused on messaging and streaming systems.

• Experience with multi-cloud environments and connectivity strategies.
