Job Description Manager – Tekla Modeling (Structural Steel) Job Title: Manager – Tekla Modeling (Structural Steel) Experience: 10+ Years Location: Madurai Employment Type: Full-Time Work Mode: Work from Office (5 Days a Week) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Manager – Tekla Modeling (Structural Steel) to lead our Structural Steel BIM team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Tekla Structures, structural steel detailing, project management, client coordination, and team leadership. The role requires managing multiple international projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables, optimizing resource utilization, and driving continuous process improvements while mentoring a team of modelers and checkers. Key Responsibilities Project Management Manage multiple structural steel modeling and detailing projects from project initiation through final delivery. Plan project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones and maximize productivity. Monitor project budgets, schedules, and overall performance. Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans. Technical Leadership Lead the preparation and review of Tekla Structures models for structural steel projects. Review General Arrangement (GA), fabrication, erection, assembly, and single-part drawings. Ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications, and international standards. Oversee clash detection, constructability reviews, and multidisciplinary BIM coordination. Provide technical guidance for complex modeling and detailing challenges. Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Tekla Modelers, Detailers, and Checkers. Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development opportunities. Promote technical excellence and adherence to company quality standards. Build a collaborative and high-performance team culture. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients. Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and technical discussions. Resolve technical queries and coordinate with engineering, fabrication, and site teams. Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality project execution. Quality & Process Improvement Ensure all deliverables meet company quality standards before submission. Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and BIM best practices. Support the implementation of company standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills Expert-level proficiency in Tekla Structures . Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, fabrication, and erection practices. Thorough understanding of AISC, BS, Eurocode, and other international structural steel standards. Experience in managing large-scale commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination. Excellent project planning, scheduling, and resource management skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities. Excellent communication, client management, and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Software Skills Tekla Structures (Mandatory) AutoCAD Navisworks Microsoft Excel Trimble Connect BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (Preferred) Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. A postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering or Construction Management is an added advantage. Experience Minimum 10+ years of experience in Structural Steel Modeling and Detailing using Tekla Structures. Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple international structural steel projects. Experience working with fabrication shops, engineering consultants, and global clients. Exposure to USA, UK, Europe, Australia, or Middle East projects is preferred.
