About the role
Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled Layer 3 Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco switching and routing technologies and hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and VPN solutions with 7+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise-grade network infrastructure while acting as an escalation point for complex network and security incidents. Key Responsibilities - Design, configure, and troubleshoot Layer 2 & Layer 3 enterprise networks - Configure and support Cisco switches and routers (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR) - Implement and manage routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Static Routing) - Deploy and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls: - Security policies & NAT - UTM, IPS, Antivirus, Web Filtering - High Availability (HA) configurations - Firmware upgrades & lifecycle management - Configure and support VPN solutions: - Site-to-Site IPsec VPN - Remote Access VPN (SSL VPN / IPsec) - Perform advanced troubleshooting of network, firewall, and VPN issues - Monitor network performance, availability, and security events - Collaborate with NOC, SOC, systems, and application teams during escalations - Maintain updated network diagrams, documentation, and SOPs - Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required Required Skills & Qualifications - Solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking: - VLANs, STP, trunking, EtherChannel - Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP - Hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing platforms - Strong working experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls - Expertise in IPsec & SSL VPN configurations - Solid knowledge of firewall and network security best practices - Experience with redundancy, failover, and HA design - Strong packet analysis and deep troubleshooting capabilities - Excellent documentation and communication skills Preferred / Nice-to-Have - Cisco certifications (CCNP / CCIE p .
