About the role
As a Software Engineer at PowerSchool, you will be part of the Software Engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, tools, and infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Software Development: Utilize your expertise in React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to build responsive and user-friendly web applications. - API Development: Apply your knowledge of Node.js and AWS Services to create robust APIs that seamlessly integrate with educational platforms. - AWS Cloud/Serverless: Leverage your experience with AWS services to deploy and manage scalable applications supporting K-12 education. - Agile/Scrum Process: Participate in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement. - Troubleshooting: Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues promptly. - Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and clients to ensure successful, on-time project delivery. Qualifications required for this role include: - Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience. - Bachelors degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience. - Experience in working with React, Node, Typescript, and building scalable APIs. - Strong understanding of React hooks, state management, and component-based architecture. - Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - A mindset focused on clean code, testing, and scalability. - Good time management skills to deliver features on schedule.
