About the role
Job Purpose (Significance of the role & Objectives) Serve as the technical quality lead for mechanical components at both the vehicle level (chassis, body, structural parts) and battery level (battery modules, cooling structures, pack enclosures, thermal management mounts) Ensure supplied parts meet design, safety, and reliability requirements throughout EV and battery product lifecycles Drive advanced quality planning (APQP), PPAP approvals, continuous improvement, supplier development, and defect containment to support Pravaig’s high-quality EV products. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Supplier Quality Planning & Part Approval Mechanical Supplier Audits & Capability Assessments Problem Solving & Corrective Actions Supplier Development & Continuous Quality Improvement Mechanical Quality Integration with Vehicle & Battery Programs Deliverables: PPAP documentation, approved Control Plans, capability reports, PSWs Audit reports, supplier capability scorecards, corrective action requirements 8D reports, CAPA tracking logs, verified corrective actions Supplier capability improvement plans, KPI trend reports. Mechanical design feedback loops, part specification clarifications, validation reports. Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline. 3–7+ years of supplier quality experience in automotive/EV manufacturing or complex mechanical systems - including experience with chassis, structural components, or battery assemblies Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA and automotive quality tools. Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, and key measurement techniques Preferred: Certifications such as ASQ CQE / CQA / VDA 6.3 Process Auditor or Lean/Six Sigma credentials. Knowledge of battery system mechanical quality requirements (thermal management, structural integrity, tolerance stacks). Experience in high-voltage battery pack assemblies and associated mechanical quality validations. Familiarity with mechanical processes such as welding, casting, forging, stamping, and precision machining Key Competencies Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and structured approach to quality issues. Strong communication and relationship management to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Project coordination and time management with ability to handle multiple quality initiatives simultaneously. Audit & Travel Expectations Conduct both on-site and remote supplier audits as required Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier audits and assessments. Participate in supplier capability evaluations and quality readiness reviews.
