About the role
Role Overview: As an Automation Engineer at Precisely, you will design and implement automation solutions that connect tools, systems, and teams across globalization and user assistance operations. Working in a global team, you will collaborate with engineers, information developers, localization specialists, DevOps, and other stakeholders in an Agile and Agentic-first environment. Your role will involve reducing manual effort, enhancing reliability, and enabling scalable workflows through API integrations, scripting, and AI-enabled automation. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement automation supporting workflows across the documentation and software development lifecycle, including content creation, validation, publishing, UI localization, translation, and delivery. - Develop and maintain agents, skills, scripts, and automation pipelines to replace manual, repetitive processes in documentation, localization, and language operations. - Integrate documentation, localization, and content systems, repositories, and services using MCPs/APIs for seamless and scalable workflows. - Utilize AI- and LLM-based tools to generate, validate, transform, enrich, and manage documentation and language content while adhering to security and compliance standards. - Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot automation infrastructure, agents, and pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and maintainability. - Contribute to documentation, reusable components, standards, and patterns supporting scalable and repeatable automation practices in content and language operations. - Engage in team initiatives focused on automation maturity, innovation, and the evolution of AI-assisted documentation and localization workflows. - Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: - BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 2-4 years of experience in automation engineering, software engineering, or systems integration, preferably supporting developer, documentation, or content operations workflows. - Proficiency in Python for building scripts, agents, and automation pipelines. - Experience with Git-based version control systems like GitHub, including pull-request-based workflows and repository automation. - Familiarity with work-tracking and planning tools such as Linear, JIRA, or similar issue-tracking systems. - Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. - AI Skills/Knowledge: Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate automation development, including code generation.
