About the role
As an Associate Software Engineer on the Developer Tooling & Ecosystem team at Priceline, your role involves designing, integrating, and operating the systems that power Pricelines development lifecycle. This role encompasses various aspects including platform engineering, systems integration, tooling governance, automation/workflows, vendor collaboration, and developer experience strategy. You will collaborate with engineering, security, finance, and product teams to optimize, integrate, and ensure measurable impact of the toolchain. Key Responsibilities: - Own and operate enterprise engineering tools across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Manage the lifecycle of tools including evaluation, onboarding, integration, optimization, and sunset - Partner with vendors to influence roadmap, resolve escalations, and optimize contracts - Ensure security, compliance, and access governance standards are met - Design and maintain integrations between core systems such as CI/CD, SonarQube, LaunchDarkly, Contentful, Smartling, Luciq, etc. - Build automation to reduce manual workflows and improve cross-platform interoperability - Evaluate and integrate GenAI platforms, define guardrails for AI-assisted development, and measure productivity impact - Maintain integrations with SonarQube, Mergify, Docker Desktop, and related tooling to improve code quality and developer feedback loops - Establish reporting frameworks to measure tool adoption, usage efficiency, cost vs. value, and developer productivity signals - Design and maintain onboarding programs for new engineers, standardize development environment setup, and improve time-to-first-PR metrics Qualifications Required: - 2+ years of engineering experience in Java/Python - Experience with CI/CD, code quality tools, or developer platforms - Strong systems integration mindset and experience in building internal tools or automation workflows - Understanding of identity, access management, and enterprise tool governance - Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to think holistically about ecosystems Priceline is a dynamic company focused on providing the best travel deals to customers.
